Does anybody know if its possible to specify with struct.pack and struct.unpack
whether it is possible to specify the byte ordering. In the library reference
at the end, it mentions it as something that will be done, but has it been done
or if not when is it going to be done.
The packing follows the byte ordering of the host machine. I'm not
sure if anything has been done regarding the following quote from the
library reference:
"(More format characters are planned, e.g. 's' for character arrays, upper case for
unsigned variants, and a way to specify the byte order, which is useful for
[de]constructing network packets and reading/writing portable binary file formats
like TIFF and AIFF.)"
While waiting for this, I've used marshal module to achieve byte-order
independence.

Harri
