preliminary python/expect in 1.2?

That guy who said he'd do a python/expect module has got a beta
release, at:

ftp://farzy.via.ecp.Fr/pub/python/expy-0.2.tar.gz

I haven't tried it, but mike mclay finally has gotten it compiled and
running, at least enough to confirm that it *would* run. However
successful the implementation, i was thinking it would be nice to
include it as a provisional kinda thing - a contrib, or demo, or
whatever - and maybe inspire others to contribute to its development,
get some momentum with it. I sent a message to the author, Farzad
Farid, (farid6@cti.ecp.fr) asking if he'd be willing to have it
included, and i figured i'd give you a heads-up, in case it's still a
possibility.

(As you know, i think having a real expect would be a real virtue for
python, and worth some extra effort. Farzad's current implementation
still depends on tcl for the regular expressions, and farzad's work on
the project seems pretty sporadic, but i've been prompting him to work
on that, and it is probably still worthwhile to include it...)
