Glen--

I"ve (and others) have used the miniSQL Python bindings. miniSQL is a
"free" database that is ANSI SQL-compliant.

Try looking in the Python FAQ -- I believe some Sybase work for Python as
been done already. As for xBase extensions, gulp, good luck.
