You are welcome to beta test if you are reasonably knowledgeable about
the platform and C compiler you're using, or if you have access to a
relatively uncommon platform, compiler or extension (e.g. database
modules). The more you have used Python in the past, the better.
You must be willing to spend some time on testing -- in the unlikely
event that you encounter platform-specific problems, I may not be much
help in solving them. It's essential that you email me your
experiences, whether positive or negative. Please try to test out as
many optional modules as you can, and please run as much Python code
as possible!
Two restrictions:
(1) Don't discuss the beta version in the mailing list or newsgroup
(2) Don't pass it on to others (except other beta testers)
To become a beta tester, send me email and I'll divulge the secret
location of the beta release. In your email please mention the
platform you're going to port to.
