Re: Linux binaries?

Several people have expressed experiencing difficulty building Python+Stdwin
under Linux. Since I managed to let people know that I've done it (with almost
no problems, actually), I've received several requests for information about
the build. This morning I figured it would be best to simply start with a new,
"clean" copy of the distributions (my python wasn't 1.0.3 anyway), and do it
over to make sure I could remember just what was needed. I got the stdwin
demos working from both the C and Python demo directories, so it seems to work
o.k., though I would not say it's an error-free build. The errors do appear
to be harmless creatures, so I'm not worried about the binaries working.

Later this evening, I'll have some quick instructions written up describing
the changes, and I'll post them here. Hopefully Guido can get these wrapped
up into the next release of the packages.
