GNU GetOpt

Hi !

Somewhere in the Dox/FAQs/??? of Python, the behaviour of GNU Getopt is
mentioned as reason not to link Python with it...

For me (using Linux and IMHO GNU Getopt) using "--" seems to fix these
things:

e.g.: A shell script beginning with

#!/usr/local/bin/python

will show these option errors, a script beginning with

#!/usr/local/bin/python --

will not fail if options are given to the script...

Did I miss something ? Are there other problems with GNU Getopt which I
don't see ?

btw: I'd like to use Python mainly for some nice scriptfiles to be executed
on ascii terminals. The alfa port of stwin looks somewhat ugly...
Are there newer versions (I use stdwin-0.9.8) or are there other modules
for Python doing something like (n)curses-io ?

Bye !
Ulf.
