I've released a new version of the Extensions directory. This time
there are no Python scripts to generate Makefiles -- instead, there is
a (nearly-)constant Makefile template which is combined with a Setup
file (as is done for the Modules directory in the main Python
distribution) to create the final Makefile. It is also possible to
combine multiple extensions (see examples).

Ftp availability for now: host ftp.cwi.nl, directory pub/python, file
extensions.tar.gz.
