Anyone playing with MIDI in python?

Has anyone written any MIDI software in/for python? Having recently
purchased a midi-capable keyboard I'm of course looking into making
on-the-fly transcriptions of my key-poundings and that sort of stuff.
I'm currently mainly looking for three things: (1) a python parser for
standard midi files, (2) a Macintosh midi driver class and (3) an SGI
midi driver class, but I'd like to hear anything from people using
python for midi-related programming.
