I think that Informix is part of the IDAPI database API group, so
there may be some mileage there as well, though it is my understanding
that IDAPI is trailing ODBC in both implementations and acceptance.
It was the case that one could get the IDAPI spec from Borland for the
cost of a telephone call. I don't know if that is still the case.
