JPEG in python

Actually, the jpeg module in python needs my mucho-hacked-up version
of a very old jpeg distribution. I had to hack in memory-to-memory
conversion of jpeg data. (Hey, that's nice, the three 'jpeg's align
nicely:-) I'll be gone for 10 days, but when I come back I'll try to
whip something up with a newer jpeg version that is distributable.

Note that people with SGI machines *can* use jpeg: there is a module
with the same interface that uses the sgi compression library to
compress/decompress jpeg images.
