How to tell if in a script...

Is there a way to tell from inside a module if you are in an import
statement or loading from a script?

I have a .py file that can be loaded via 'import' or run from
the command line..

Also, is there a way to tell if this module is loaded for the first time
or if it is being reloaded via 'reload'???

I have a couple modules that MUST save state from import to reload.
