I got the python and stdwin archives from wuarchive.wustl.edu. They
installed very nicely on sgi sparc architectures. They also installed on an
IBM but with a little of work on the stdwin side.
In the Conf directory of the stdwin directory structure I had to make a new file
proto.arch.aix and I had to place a dummy 'arch' program in my path. After
I did this installing with
./mkmf -o aix
worked nicely.
