I don't fully understand what you mean. The stdwin window doesn't
react to the 'close' menu? Or doesn't it react to deleting the object?

Hmm.... I'm just think of something, wait a minute... Yes! There is
some sort of cyclic reference in stdwin that occasionally causes
windows to stay around when you think they are deleted. For that
reason, there is also an explicit 'close()' method on stdwin windows.
Maybe this is what you're looking for (although it has little to do
with emacs and ^C)?
