Editor for python?

There is a nice editor on the Mac called Alpha. It is tcl-based and can
be customized for various programming languages (including C, tcl, Pascal).

Has anyone out there customized Alpha for python?

It would be nice if Alpha was integrated with the python interpreter as well.
(Just dreaming a little...)
